NOTE FOR LIP BLUSH: It is strongly recommended to take an antiviral medication prior to lip procedures to prevent cold sores. Tattooing has the potential to trigger the virus and compromise color retention. If you have a history of cold sores (even one!), please contact your doctor for Valtrex. This is to be taken 3 days prior to your appointment and 3 days after. If you’ve never had a cold sore or are unsure, it is strongly recommended to still take precaution. You may purchase over the counter L-lysine supplements and take 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after your procedure. Ensure you are very hydrated for this service and the lips have been exfoliated a few days prior.
Night of procedure: Gently wash brows at the sink with antibacterial dial soap and water. Blot dry. Go to bed.
Day 2 – 14: Gently wash brows every morning with antibacterial soap and water. Blot dry with clean paper towels or clean hand towels. Let air dry for 2 minutes and apply a very sheer layer of Aquaphor Healing Ointment. Once a day is sufficient.
Peeling may begin a few days after receiving tattoo. Some guests do not peel. This process can last up to 14 days or longer.
Once the peeling stage has finished, expect your brows to look exceptionally light. The pigment will darken as the skin continues to exfoliate (roughly another month).
You may resume normal activity and makeup application once the last flake has come off naturally. A touch up is required 8-12 weeks later.
Continued moisture is required on healed brows. Sunscreen is a must when outdoors.
Pro Tip: Swipe over your brows with a damp q-tip after applying foundation/concealers/bronzers to remove any makeup that may cloud the appearance of your new tattoo.
Immediately after procedure: Do not touch the eyes. Do not wash the eyes – try to keep dry. If the eyes are swollen, you may take medicine.
Night of procedure: You may apply ice over a clean cloth. Do not directly ice the skin.
Day 2: Eyes will be puffy. Some guests will swell more than others. Swelling will reduce by end of Day 2.
Day 3 – 7: If the skin is feeling dry, you may apply a very sheer layer of Aquaphor Healing Ointment with clean fingers. Do not apply in excess – adverse reaction will occur.
Peeling may begin a few days after receiving tattoo. Some guests do not peel. This process can last up to a week or longer. Do not use any products other than Aquaphor Healing Ointment (or Grapeseed Oil if allergic to petroleum). A touch up is required 6 – 8 weeks later.
Immediately after procedure: clean lips with damp cotton round (clean bottled water) every 30 minutes until bedtime.
Night of procedure: If the lips still have dry lymph, wash with lukewarm water gently removing the dry lymph, pat dry and apply Aquaphor Healing Ointment. Lips may be swollen and puffy. The lips can bruise even after the procedure, do not worry; the bruising will subside within a couple of hours after the procedure.
Day 2: The lips may be swollen the second day as well. Please do not ice the lips. Keep the skin moist at all times, do not let the lips to be dry. (Aquaphor) Use a straw for all liquids.
Day 3 – 7: Apply Aquaphor as needed – do not let the lips feel dry.
Peeling may begin a few days after receiving tattoo. Some guests do not peel. This process can last up to a week or longer. Do not use any products other than Aquaphor Healing Ointment (or Grapeseed Oil if allergic to petroleum).
The touch up is best to be done 8 weeks later, allowing sufficient time for clients that heal longer, and more healing time for mature clients as well.
